Dr Brett Delahunty and his wife, Seonaid Delahunty, returned to Bundaberg in 2023 with a shared vision to strengthen an area of critical need — high-quality anaesthesia services within the region. From this vision, Embrace Anaesthesia was born, formerly known as Bundaberg Anaesthesia Specialists.

What began as a humble, collaborative team approach quickly grew beyond expectations. As demand increased and more specialists joined, it became clear that the region needed not only excellent clinical care, but also a guiding force to coordinate and support a growing service. Together, Brett and Seonaid worked side-by-side as husband and wife to organise a structured, reliable roster that would support local surgeons, hospitals, and patients across Bundaberg.

Since September 2024, Embrace Anaesthesia has brought together 15 specialist anaesthetists united by a shared commitment to teamwork, innovation, and patient-centred care. Each specialist — and the families who support them — has played a vital role in where we are today. Along the way, we have all helped, taught, learned, and listened to one another to make this vision a reality. Under Seonaid’s leadership, the practice has evolved into a well-managed, supportive, and forward-thinking service.
